inMy friend gave me his tiny plastic elephant charm (about the size of a dime), from his Lucky Elephant collection! Thank you! Then my friend asked me if the Elephant’s trunk ‘up’ was lucky or was it when the Elephant’s trunk was ‘down’? Anyone know? Well, I’m guessing the Elephant’s trunk ‘up’ is lucky as that is the way mine is. We are working on a project together. I’m wearing my lucky charm until the home renovation is completed (mid-October). I am SURE it will bring us luck. Greetings to Irene, David, April, Sandy, Marcie, Fleurie, Little Bit, Mini Bit, Buddy, Nomo, Gizmo, Cosmo & Simone.

inWhat child dropped this toy overboard into Lake Pueblo (Colorado)? How long did it lay at the bottom of the Lake, waiting for the water to dry up enough for it to be found by walkers? Was it a favourite toy? Everyone smiles & recognises this as a colourful, playful, plastic caterpillar — now Travel Jewellery!

inMy friends/family in Columbus, Ohio includes one household with three blind folks & 90-year-old Irene, my Mother’s oldest friend. When we were having a tidy up prior to some home improvements, we came across an old watch with a braille, raised-dot face. The glass is missing, but it makes great Travel Jewellery!

inThe design for this necklace was suggested by my English cousin, Les (pictured with me). Answer: Upon seeing my travel jewellery, my irreverent cousin suggested that I make a necklace from the centre tube of a ‘finished’ roll of toilet paper! The ‘white’ is a few remaining sheets! Travel jewellery requires a good sense of humour! At least my cousin Les was game enough to have his photo taken with me & his design suggestion! 🙂

inWest Virginia is a beautiful tree-covered state. It’s the ‘lungs’ of the East Coast of the United States. My friends in Lewis County had recently cut down a small locust tree. Lucky for me the branches were thin with a natural hole in the centre. Tim took out his chain saw & cut me a slice. With a little sandpaper & thread — ready to wear! How old is the tree? Count the rings.
